This is one of the largest Linux environments in DK, in a company in the center of Copenhagen, with a view to the waterfront and the city.
We are looking for their new Linux specialist, who will join this inspiring and global organization and be part of an exciting journey going forward with a company focusing on an international growth strategy.
The Role
The Linux Systems Engineer will be part of an existing engineering team that is responsible for
design, configuration, development, deployment and maintenance of new and existing backend
web hosting, mail and calendar solutions.
Your areas of responsibility will be
Apply architecture and solutions that enables backend scalability and stability end-to-end
Work with cross-functional development teams to build and innovate new backend features
Maintain existing backend systems related to performance, testability and stability
Building high performance and high available services with millions of daily users
Develop scripts, tools and software to improve existing automation to push our backend to the next level
Skills
Programming strengths in either Go, C, or Python
Skilled with the Linux Operating System and standard automation tools like chef or puppet.
General familiarity with SMTP and related email standards
A team-player with a pragmatic devops approach and mindset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships with global stakeholders
Bonus Capabilities
Prior knowledge of Dovecot, IMAP and Postgres
Prior knowledge of spam filtering technologies
Prior knowledge of the iCalendar format
Prior knowledge of Kubernetes or LXC/LXD
Prior knowledge of Elasticsearch or Solr
Experience:
Previous experience from the hosting business is a plus
Experience in a similar role – at least 4-6 years
Worked with Linux systems, administration, engineering and development
Relevant academic background, preferably in computer science or engineering
Personality:

You are able to handle change in a flat organization
