group.one is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Engineering Manager to take up the challenge of building and maintaining one of the largest email infrastructures in Europe. You will manage a team of 10 dedicated engineers. We are looking for a profile that can take part in engineering tasks, manage the team, and coordinate with the other hosting teams. In this position you will also become part of a small and dedicated management team that represents engineering for our entire shared hosting platform. You will report to the VP of Engineering, Mass hosting.

Your role

  • Set the stage for how to develop and deploy the technology behind the mail and calendar products, some of group.one's most important products

  • Continue the establishment of group-wide abuse handling, expanding the high-quality work already done for the one.com brand

  • Be the people manager for 10 highly motivated and experienced engineers

  • Facilitate and drive professional and personal growth for your team

  • Be a key person for coordinating and executing important engineering projects, often together with other teams

  • Work with Linux based open source software solutions

  • Help architect and deploy the code that enables the new services required in the next steps of their growth

  • Make sure anything repetitive is automated

 

Your skills

  • Strong managerial skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Empathy for your team and an understanding that you deliver results through faciliating the best possible team effort

  • Strong Linux skills and a good understanding of distributed systems

  • Experience with one or more programming languages like Golang, Ruby or Python

  • Experience with Chef or other configuration management (Puppet, Ansible, Salt etc.) is considered an advantage

  • Experience with mail hosting is considered an advantage

  • Thrives in a role where you have end-to-end responsibility for writing, deploying, and maintaining code and the systems it runs on

  • A strong bias towards automating anything repetitive
