We are looking for a great Operation specialist to SMT Data in Holte.
The software products developed by SMT Data, gather enormous amounts of data about the
customer’s IT operations and map these to business activities using analysis and reporting tools on top of a data warehouse. SMT Data also provides services to help customers integrate the ITBI™ solution into their environment and assists customers in realizing the benefits of ITBI™ in their organization.
SMT Data is a privately held company founded in 1990. It employs 25 highly skilled specialists in
software development, professional services and sales. The company’s headquarters are located in Holte, 15 km north of Copenhagen, and it has a growing network of partners across Europe.
SMT Data has recently initiated an ambitious project which aims at developing a new platform to unite existing solutions and enable a series of new product capabilities, to further develop their main product, which helps customers improve and optimize the use of their IT capacity and reduce their IT infrastructure cost.
The project is expected to make heavily use of Big Data technologies and data analysis tools such as Apache Spark, Hadoop and Jupiter, and the scope is likely to include data streaming, advanced analysis and machine learning.
About the position
As an operation specialist at SMT Data you will be part of a small world class team in a company with big ambitions, where your contribution will have decisive influence on the company’s development and success.
You will have the opportunity to create results together with SMT Data’s customers that include
some of the largest and most complex IT installations in Europe. As an operation specialist you will be responsible for the operation, support and the infrastructure in SMT Data. Their services are primarily built on AWS.
Your tasks will be:
Maintaining their AWS environment
Provisioning and configuring Windows servers
Monitoring
Automation
Running the ITBI application:
Daily operation/scheduling/monitoring of our ITBI solution
Incident management and Customer support
Regular maintenance and upgrades
Participating in Customer Projects:
Installation and customization of new customers on the ITBI solution
Participation in ‘Proof of Value’ projects
Driving continuous improvement of the ITBI operational environment:
Ensuring well defined processes
Implementing tools to automate these processes
Improved reporting both internally and externally
Ensure high-quality documentation of the environment
You will work closely together with SMT Data’s Operations Manager in a day-to-day partnership
where stability, continuous improvements and customer satisfaction are the primary drivers.
Moreover, you will also interface with their team of Customer Consultants, who will provide you
with insight into customer needs and market trends, as well as their development team, with whom you will share operational feedback and inputs. All this to create the best service for their
customers
Preferred experience
Background in IT operation
Operational experience on the Windows platform
You like to automate operation tasks and you properly have experience with Powershell,
Perl or a similar
You have experience with MS SQL
You are interested in understanding customers' data and systems and how the customers use SMT Data’s solutions
